The process at a glance

  1. 01 / POLISHING

Prepare the intended surface finish while retaining the product's shape and details. The required result may be polished, satin or textured.

  2. 02 / ULTRASONIC DEGREASING

Ultrasonic cleaning helps remove oil and polishing residues, including contamination in small gaps and recesses.

  3. 03 / ELECTROLYTIC DEGREASING

Electrical cleaning provides further surface preparation before plating. The treatment must suit the base metal.

  4. 04 / UNDERPLATING

Intermediate metal layers prepare the base for the final finish. The layer system is selected for the material and agreed specification—not one fixed recipe for every product.

  5. 05 / PRECIOUS-METAL PLATING

The specified precious metal or alloy is deposited to form the final plated finish. Colour, metal composition and thickness are separate specifications.

  6. 06 / COATING

A protective coating may be applied where specified. Its application method and required drying or curing must be confirmed for the selected system.

This is a general process outline, not a bath-by-bath record of the film. Rinsing and any required activation belong between relevant treatments. The sequence, metal layers and protective treatment depend on the product.

What to agree before production

APPEARANCE

Approve the physical colour reference, surface finish and consistency across chains, clasps and other components.

LAYER SYSTEM

Confirm the base metal, plating layers, target thickness and any protective coating in the product specification.

PERFORMANCE

Agree the inspection and testing requirements for the intended use and market. Appearance alone does not establish durability.
